Choosing a Wine Rack

by / Wednesday, 22 July 2015 / Published in Emme2Design, Esigo, Showroom, Wine Racks

With hundreds of styles to choose from, choosing a wine rack is an exciting, yet daunting task. Here are three essential considerations that will help you choose the right rack for
your restaurant (or home!).

  1. The Space. First and foremost, consider how much room you have for a wine rack. Are you taking advantage of a small space and utilizing it for extra storage? Or do you have a large blank canvas you’d like to turn into a showpiece? These varying scenarios significantly alter the type of wine racks that will work for you. In particular, whether you should be considering a wall-mounted, fixed rack or a free-standing floor rack. Both types can offer excellent storage solutions as well as a desirable visual impact.
  2. Materials. Wine racks can be made in virtually any material, from wood to steel to plexiglas. Wood wine racks are considered traditional and timeless. Plus, there are a large number of types to choose from, including cherry, oak, mahogany and many more. For a more modern look, steel and plexiglas create a strong focal point in any room. With plexiglas in particular, the addition of LED lighting can create a really striking look. LED lights create little to no heat, while beautifully illuminating your wine collection. Since each of these materials offer long-term, reliable storage, give a lot of thought to which type will most enhance your decor.
  3. Capacity. How many bottles you need to store is a key element when you’re choosing a wine rack. Most importantly, make sure you forecast for the future as your wine collection grows.

At Enostore, we recommend Emme2Design and Esigo Italian-made wine racks for our clients. Emme2Design utilizes plexiglas for most of their wine rack designs, achieving a contemporary look born from clean lines. These racks are available in a wide variety of styles but also have optional LED lighting and customization, should you have a really unique space you need fitted. Esigo uses a very different mix of materials, including oak, steel, cardboard and aluminium, and has created wine racks for both traditional interiors as well as modern. Their unique product line up includes floor models, table top, wall-mounted and modular racks, providing solutions for any number of required bottle positions in any scenario.
